Kutaisi University is a private university founded in 1992 by Valerian Kelbakiani and Revaz Laghidze in Kutaisi, Georgia

Kutaisi University accounts 26 years of its establishment. Firstly, it was created on the bases of Kutaisi State University and later, it was formed as Kutaisi Institute of Law and Economics. In 1992 its status changed and it was renamed as Kutaisi University of Law and Economics.

On March 17, 2010 the university was renamed Kutaisi University.

KIU will be offering vocational, undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degree programs as well as research possibilities. The aim of the university is to prepare highly qualified workforce and human capital that will promote economic growth and development of Georgia and the entire region.

The Cartu Foundation is investing over 1 billion Euro into the development of the Kutaisi International University (KIU) project.

KIU collaborates with Technical University of Munich (TUM International GmbH and TUM), the leading European university. The operational model of the university is developed in partnership with TUM and TUM International GmbH.

The Honorary President of Kutaisi International University is Prof. Dr. Wolfgang A. Herrmann, former President of TUM.

Admission Requirement

Application Status:

After submission, within the 7 working days of fulfilling the application requirements, we will send you an official offer letter from the Kutaisi University, Georgia. On the basis of the signed offer letter, Study-Georgia will start enrollment procedure. Translation, notarization, recognition and enrollment procedures take approximately 2 – 4 weeks.

KU has no deadline for admission. However, the University has two intakes. Students can get admission to either join Fall Academic Session (September batch) or the Spring Academic Session (February/March batch).

Visa and Immigration

As soon as the enrolment procedure will be successfully completed,KU will send you an official invitation letter which – together with other documents – will be required for the applicant to apply for a studying VISA to the closest Georgian Embassy

KU Dormitory/ Accommodation.

Currently, KU does have hostels on campus for foreign students. However, apartments and flats are cheap around the university’s vicinity we can also help you regarding it.
